The US needs to work much More closely with Canada and stop butting heads with each other. Whatever the US does not negotiate with Canada, the Chinese will take. Big Oil continues to sell fuel and natural gas on the world market for higher prices, there will be NO price reduction for the cost of fuel or natural gas IN the US. 'Coming out of the closet' Barry will support natural gas and oil production for sale on the world market to pay for his ‘spending gone wild’ addiction and receive the huge federal tax income for oil. Barry's economy is not improving but continues to hurt the population. The US ‘oil and natural gas resources’ belong to the citizens of this country and are to be used by those same citizens! Speculators, manipulators and the banks continue to unfairly and unjustly make the driving public pay higher prices at the pump for their benefit. Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Consider using other forms of less expensive transportation to lower your cost, if possible! The price of fuel at the pump is too high! 12/22/2012!

Obama killed this deal with his leaning on the Keystone XL pipeline in favor of the greenies.

us4usa commented on Focus2, Focus2:""There will not be few jobs for Americans. The pipe will be made in India and shipped here. If it were made here it could create jobs for America.""
"Well someone will need to dig the ditch, or are you saying that will NOT be Americans???"
How pathetic have we become as a nation that we're glad to take ditch digging jobs to help provide oil for other countries???
This oil is not going to America. It's going to the highest bidder.

Liberty 2000 said, "Maybe the administration will give China money to develop Canadian oil. Since they won't permit development of our own oil resources."
What are you talking about? Which countries have more oil wells, drilling platforms, oil & gas pipelines than the U.S.? Seriously, which countries? We have the most oil and gas infrastructure of any industrialized country because we use a full 25% of the world's energy resources, even though we're only 4% of the world population.
In the interest of Liberty, I say we drill in George Washington's nose on Mt. Rushmore.

What do you suggest we do, bobdec? We already have our military spread out, all over the globe. Where do you plan on finding the troops to deal with China?
And if you're thinking of sanctions or tariffs, big business would never go for that. American business starts to drool whenever they think of the 1.3 billion new customers for their products.

GasholeMIsaid, "The US can build the pipeline and insure crude supplies. Why don't we?"
I ask you, "Why do we have to pay for the pipeline?" Are you willing to shell out the cash from your own pocket?
There is no need to "insure crude supplies". Have we had any sort of fuel shortage since the 1970s?" OPEC will never, ever, embargo the U.S. again because they can't afford to. OPEC needs to run their oil wells at full throttle to fund their export-driven economies. Whenever Saudi Arabia tries to get the other OPEC member countries to cut supply, they just ignore Saudi and pump oil on the sly.

Canadian oil should stay in Canada. Prices are higher than what you pay in the US. We should be using oil own oil rather than importing foreign oil!

This is just political posturing. Canada wants U.S. taxpayers and corporations to fund their projects by holding the specter of a Chinese venture over our heads. Don't be gullible and buy into this garbage. Let Canada pay for it's own oil profiteering. Do Americans have to be suckers? No!

The oil belongs to Alberta. They can sell it whom ever they wish and nobody is entitled to it. The US has had cheap access for some time but that will end if/when they can get to to the coast and it can be sold at world price. That is thier right, however, the oil is landlocked and they do not have a right to ship through BCor the states. They need to share the benifit with those whose coast and territory is put at risk moving it to market. I have heard little from Alberta or Harper regarding royalties for right of way to get oil though the territories thier pipelines transit.

Keystone XL would create some US jobs if it was built. Excavation contractors and welders will be needed during construction and probably cleanup experts later on. But do we want to do something otherwise absurd just to create a few jobs? Perhaps we could import all the Canadian trash and bury it in giant landfills; that would create jobs too and make about as much sense.

already do all over the world
Obama backers have to understand at some point we run on energy
unless they like the employment number where it is and notice I say employment because on this path we'll have unemployment at 2% (becaue everybody will fall off the rolls) while the number of working remains stagnant...
