I noticed your photo. I think that's fantastic. I wish more people "walked the walk" like you obviously do. Then we wouldn't need so many powerplants, just to provide peak power. Distributed power would do much to reduce the strain on our transmission grids. Personally, I can't mount solar because I live in an apartment but I actually get my electricity from 100% wind power through my local utility. Costs me a few bucks more per month but I sleep a lot better at night.

I hear what you're saying but I think the whole shutting down coal plants thing is overblown. Why can't they be replaced with combined cycle-natural gas plants that are far more efficient and throttle-able, so they can handle peak loads far better than coal's baseline load? The cost of coal on our planet makes it too expensive to burn. We need to do a smarter job of providing electricity. Coal AND nuclear just aren't smart. I don't care if nuclear is considered zero emissions, it's just not a sane option, considering what can go wrong.

Check nifty nuke article I posted.. Would you believe they are having trouble finding clean up workers for those melted down reactors in japan?? Wonder why?? Regards, Joe

Hybrids reclaim most of the energy a conventional vehicle dissipates as heat in the brake linings. That's the reason they get the mileage figures they do.

Wind sucks or blows depending which side of the high or low pressure system it is on, It also sucks near a vacuum hose.

I don't have solar on my house yet, but I do in my Bug-out Trailor. Yes I still live in Ca. would like to leave, just not shure where. Winters here have been bad enough, dont need ones like yours. Stay sharp and keep ypur powder dry.
